Nana & Pops came to visit this weekend… mostly to see the kids, but also to bring them some Valentine gifts. 🙂
So, here’s what we did today. I admit, I was a bit skeptical of a pre-packaged garden, and especially one that tells you log your garden online to keep track of it. “Ah, just another thing to keep track of…”
BUT… 🙂 We did it. And it was SO fun. It’s called a Growums garden – they bought us the “Salad Garden” – lettuce, tomato, carrot and cucumber. I guess there’s a pizza garden and some others that have different veggies.
After planting the garden, watering it, and logging our progress on the website (it gives you points for taking care of your plants each day… I guess they save up for something!) we played around on there – played some games, printed a coloring sheet and learned about plants and bugs. Pretty fun, and we’ll see how it they grow. They have instructional videos for each step of the way. When they sprout, you can plant them outside, etc.
We’re doing this everyday. 20 minutes of activity… PRICELESS.
Check them out if you have small kids!
Thanks Nana & Pops!
